Did y'all think I stayed in New Jersey?

Boy I wish that were true. We did make it back from a GREAT vacation! I came home sicker than I have been in a very long while. The night before we flew home my ears plugged up and because of my throat I couldn't talk. So needless to say I had a miserable flight home. My ears would NOT pop. So on our drive home I just sat in my own little world since I couldn't talk and I couldn't hear. When we got home Michael and I both realized that neither one of us had a house key! We were tired and locked out. I can't even remember now how we got back in. I think I found my dad at work who has an extra key of ours and we got in. CRAZY I tell you!

August turned into an adventure for us. Thing 1 (Macy) went to her first overnight camp. She left on a Grey Hound bus for a 4 hour trip "up north". The next morning we got a call from camp saying Macy hurt her leg. To make a long story short she BROKE her leg (in 2 spots - a tib/fib break). My poor baby!! She had to stay overnight at the hospital and as soon as Michael and I found out what was going on we drove up to stay with her. 4 hours was way too long. It seemed like 8 I just wanted to be with my baby. Here is a picture of her in the temporary splint.

We headed home the next day to see an Ortho specialist to determine if surgery was necessary, which we found out wasn't!! She got her cast on and started on an interesting journey. She wore the thigh high cast for 4 weeks and then graduated to a walking boot (cam walker). We went back in on November 3rd (her 9th birthday) for another check-up and she was FREE!! It was quite the adventure. Glad to be done with it. Just imagine how difficult bath time was having to keep her cast out of the tub. One day we were invited to my nieces water park birthday and not wanting Macy to be left out we tried doubling up garbage bags and duct tape. Boy that DID NOT work. Her cast was soaking wet. Luckily it didn't damage it and it didn't bother Macy to bad. Her leg did not itch worse than it already did. Whew. Have I said how happy we are to be done with this?

Dad decorated Macy's cast. It was the coolest around. He drew her a bionical (sp?) leg and the butterfly and a sun. Oh and a rose too. The dr and nurses always commented on how cool that was.

First day of school for Macy!

Cast off! Now the boot!

My happy birthday girl!

Macy showing off her 2 good legs! She finally got to wear her new school shoes!

I have more to post about. Like my Connor starting school this fall. He is so enjoying Kindergarten. It is fun to see him learn. Also, my little Griffin is getting bigger everyday. But I will save those for another post soon!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
